## Challenge

Pragmatic trial design integrates real-world elements but best practices for navigating the methodological trade-offs these design choices create had not been systematically presented to a pharmacoepidemiology audience.

## Solution

Target RWE researchers presented an oral session on methods and new approaches in pragmatic trials, covering key design principles, the tension between internal and external validity, and novel analytic strategies for extracting causal evidence from pragmatic trial data.
