Methods and New Approaches in Pragmatic Trials Case Study: Botswana Combination Prevention Project

View publication →

Challenge

The Botswana Combination Prevention Project provided one of the largest real-world demonstrations of a pragmatic UTT trial, but practical implementation lessons had not been synthesized for a pharmacoepidemiology and methods audience.

Solution

Target RWE's HIV team presented a case study of BCPP as a pragmatic trial at a pharmacoepidemiology methods conference, synthesizing key design decisions, real-world implementation lessons, and methodological insights.

Impact

Translating BCPP implementation lessons for a pharmacoepidemiology audience extends Target RWE's HIV expertise into the broader evidence generation community and positions the team's pragmatic trial experience as relevant to hybrid trial-registry programs.
